Riau Islands in Indonesia to attract tourists during Nongsa Regatta 2016

first_imgThe shores of Batam in the Riau Islands would be abuzz with the launch of Nongsa Regatta, set to be held at the end of January 2016, at the peak of the northeast Monsoon. The event is open to racing multihull boats, yachts, keelboats, stand up paddleboards, radio sailing, traditional sampan kolek and dinghies.The Nongsa Regatta, hosted by Nongsa Point Marina and Resort, Batam, is expected to attract an estimated 500 participants from Hong Kong, Thailand, the Philippines, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. The event hopes to attract a minimum of two dozen entries from each of those categories mentioned.Opening and registration would be done at Nongsa Point Marina and Resort, Batam from January 23-27 while the competitions would take place from January 28-30.Apart from competitions, participants and attendees would be able to enjoy a host of social events daily and engage in activities on the resort’s shores from the regatta’s opening ceremony to its closing event.last_img
